Pushing Up!

Trent has started pushing up on his knees when he's on the floor. =) Now he just needs to realize that the hands have to push up at the same time! My dad said he would make us some baby gates. I hope Trent doesn't crawl before we have them! Cool thing: If he still has them, my dad is going to use the spindles from my crib for the gates. =) I love it!

See those giraffes in the background? Bye Bye. =(

Sweet Potatoes

Ok, Trent LOVES the stuff. He dives at the spoon. Unfortunately, he likes to practice his trumpet buzzing while we are eating now....not fun for mommy. I hope he grows out of that soon.

This is how mommy leaves the spoon in his mouth to make sure he sucks the food down instead of pushing it all out with his tongue!

He obviously doesn't mind having food all over himself. I mind having it all over me and the kitchen table.

Jewelry Mamas

As most of you know I am a Premier Designs Jeweler. I signed up last May and I'm so happy I did. I have had the best time. Premier is such an amazing company based on Godly principles. We are all about people and it is wonderful. This past weekend we had Regional Rally and it was great fun! Three of us are pregnant and one is adopting this year. Here I am with one of the preggers mamas, Kristi! She is about 2 months ahead of me but I'm just as big! AAA!!! Baby #2 is poppin' out. =)

6 Months - First Foods

Trent turned 6 months old 7 days ago. What a big boy! A week or so before his "birthday" we started him on solids. He was ready! Our 6 month checkup isn't until the 23rd so I didn't want to wait until then. I wasn't exactly sure where to start because every book and person says something different, so we started with Avocado because it's easy. I'm making his food, so I like easy.

He was not quite sure what to think. I couldn't get him to eat much of it.

A day or two later I noticed a rash on his tummy so we moved on to butternut squash. NOT fun to prepare. I've learned a better way now. =)

I had to trick him with the bottle to get him to eat it. I was able to get him to eat a full serving this way. A day or two later I noticed the rash again and I wasn't sure if it was new. To be safe we moved on. After talking to a girl at the pediatrician's office I decided to go for peas! Very easy to prepare.

Still not sure what to think! We ate peas for a full week without rash, though! Yay! I was able to get him to eat a full serving every day, but I had to start the bottle trick after just a few bites.

We are now on to sweet potatoes. I baked them, peeled them, cut the mushiest parts off into the food processor, steamed the other parts, and then pureed them all up with some water. YUM! I even like them. =)

He has been doing GREAT!! My mom gave him his first bowl of sweet potatoes because I had to leave town for Premier Rally. Then his daddy gave him his second bowl the next day. Daddy said he was able to feed him half the bowl without the bottle trick!
I finally got to feed him the sweet potatoes yesterday and he did amazingly well. I was able to get him to eat the entire bowl with the spoon! I'd let him suck on the spoon to keep them in. Otherwise, that tongue would just push them right out! He will learn. =)

I have lots of videos of him eating and TONS from other times, but I am unable to find the cord that connects our camera to the computer. =( When I figure out this technically difficulty I'll post lots of videos of the sweet one.

Two weeks until we find out the sex of Two-ey!

Secret's Out

We kept it a secret for a while, but now it is public knowledge that Trent is going to be a big brother!
I made that shirt for him to announce the surprise to his Gammer and Papa and his Mimi. They were excited, as were the rest of our family members and friends. =)

Here is mommy at 13 weeks. Already showing a lot!
Baby #2 (Two-ey) is expected July 4th, 2011. We will see if baby waits that long.
I have an appointment tomorrow and I will be 14 weeks. Some doctors tell the sex this early, but ours waits until 20 weeks. But if they see something I want to know! =) We are so excited. Once we know the gender we will be able to plan the new room or the baby shared room. We aren't quite sure what we will do yet.
