Trent's Dedication

Trent's baby dedication was this Sunday and it was so nice. We met several other sweet couples that we want to hang out with soon. Including a couple that went to SFA! They were all super cool! =)

This is our little family of three. Trent looks kind of crazy. I wish Gammer had taken another shot. =/

This is my immediate family. My parents, my sister and her family, and my grandma.

This is our sweetums sitting on the couch after we got home. He looks like such a big boy!

This is the picture we used in the bulletin. =) I love this one.

Air Guitar

I just had to post this. He was sleeping so funny last night and the two pictures I took make it look like he is playing air guitar. =)

2 Month Checkup

Our little man had his 2 month check at the pediatrician on Tuesday and he was such a good boy! Here are his recent stats:

Height = 24 1/4" - 89%
Weight = 13 lbs 13 oz - 90%
Head = 16" - 65%

The doctor said he is very healthy! She also said if he needed to bump up to 7 or 8 ounces that was ok because he's a bigger boy.

He had his DTap vaccine (diphtheria,tetanus and pertussis)and I was worried that he might have a meltdown. He did so great! He barely even whined when she stuck him. Good thing he has chunky thighs!! He seriously freaked out more when I cleaned out his nose that morning. Crazy boy was inconsolable.

Since his appointment his sleeping hasn't been quite the same. He woke up 2 hours early Wednesday morning, 3 hours early Thursday morning and 4 hours early this morning! I was able to get him back to sleep today but it wasn't a deep sleep. So I called the doctor this morning to see if it had anything to do with the vaccine and the nurse said it might. It could also be just coincidence because  babies usually change their sleep patterns at this age. To air on the side of caution we are going to give him some vitamins for a few days. I hope he gets back into the swing of things. I do NOT like waking up in the middle of the night. He has gotten me spoiled with his 10 hour nights.

More changes:
Tummy time so he can roll to his back =)
He can see all of the colors
He can see across the room
He is more aware of his feet and hands being connected to his body

It is all so exciting! Only a short time away from eating cereal! I might cry...seriously I just felt a hint of teariness when I typed that.

Our next big event to look forward to: Mimi and Aunt Jacqueline visiting on October 8th!! Almost time to decorate for fall!!!

Two Months

Boy how my boy has changed in two months! He looks so different and we think he looks more like mommy all the time. Here he is in his Bumbo yesterday. He loved it!

Things that have changed:
Smiling more especially when he hears mommy
Eating 6 oz
Taking one long nap in the middle of the day
Sleeping an average of 9 hours at night

His 2 month checkup is Tuesday and we can't wait to see how much he weighs!

Photo Shoot

Trent finally got to meet his cousin Rowynn this weekend. She is two months older than Trent and they had a blast together! Rowynn's daddy is Joel's brother James.

We went out in the back yard on Saturday and took some awesome photos! Alicia, James and I took turns with the camera.

Tummy Time!

So...I got out our "Sassy" tummy time mat only to discover it had been used. I'm not sure if someone gave it to us as a hand-me-down or if it came from the store. If it came from the store, I'm annoyed. If it was a hand-me-down that's fine....does anyone who reads this know? I'm so bad. I can't remember where it came from.

Luckily Aunt Kelly gave us a wonderful "Boppy" tummy time mat so we tried that out. He wasn't crazy about it, but he didn't freak out too much. =)

Big Boy

Our big boy is sleeping in his bed now. We had tried it a few weeks ago and then he started going through one of his "leaps." There is a book called The Wonder Weeks that explains the mental developments babies go through at different weeks of age. (I have the app on my phone) Trent fit every criterion for the first leap: "Changing Sensations" which included crying without normal reason, only quiet with you, wants more physical contact. It was comforting to know why he was being so needy. Thank you Aunt Alicia for the info about the app! It is so helpful.

So now that he is through that we started him back in his room. Wednesday night he was really fussy and fighting sleep to the death. He would not give in. We finally got him to go down but he woke up about 15 minutes later. I went in and turned him to his back and he was fine. He likes looking at his little lighted, musical aquarium. That was at 10:00 and he woke up at 2am screaming for a bottle. I went back and forth in my mind for a few seconds but decided I was NOT going to give him a bottle. He needed to stay used to going all night without one. So I just picked him up and rocked him for a bit. Then he slept three more hours. =) Yay!

Last night was another fussy night. I thought, "Oh no, not this again." I decided to give him a bath to see if a routine would get him in a better mood. He LOVES his bath now. He was calm and sweet the whole time. He even smiled! He didn't fuss until I was carrying him in the towel. He hates the towel. I dressed him in a fantastic zip-up footsie jammy and he was as happy as a lark. He went down for a little bit in his pack-n-play and then had a bottle. Then he went down for at least 8 hours. I can't remember exactly when I put him down but I'm pretty sure he slept 8 hours. Yay Trent!

  Here he is after his fussy night. I think he liked the bath and footsie jammies routine much better. That will have to become a nightly routine. Mommy LOVES his fresh, soft hair anyway. =)

I ALMOST got him to nap in his bed today but it didn't last long. Only 15 minutes. He just loves to nap in his lamby swing. I don't blame him. It looks COMFY! I want to nap in it. =)

I Am in Trouble

He is so cute....I'll never be able to say no to him! Naw...I'll be ok. But he IS super cute. He is only awake for a few short hours each day, so mommy holds him on the couch and talks with him. Here is a series of photos from one of our couch sessions.

Hum dee dum...what to do...

I have an idea!

Uh oh! Something's coming.

I wonder if she knows what I just did in my diaper.

I think she knows.

Maybe if I keep making cute faces she won't care!

Wow....she really doesn't care. I love my mommy.
