14 Weeks

I'm so late posting this! I will be 15 weeks on Sunday and have a new picture. =)

I saw a girl's blog who documented her belly this way and I thought it was so cute. I had to steal the idea. My baby is about the size of a Naval orange so I took a picture with one. =)

Fun Finds

Well I was officially 14 weeks on Sunday! That's 3 1/2 months for those who can't think in weeks. As soon as I actually remember to take a picture, I'll post it. =)
Oh and I've felt fine since giving up avocados. =( Sad day. I will miss you avocados!
I found some fun things today at http://www.myretrobaby.com/ and here they are!

I just love these adorable retro garage shop onesies that come in boy colors as well. I need to figure out how to do this myself. So cute.

I'm going to have to get this frame or try to make it myself because it is too cute! Maybe at our appointment next week we will get a better picture of baby. =)

Avocados Be Gone

So for three days after I ate lunch I felt very achy and sick all afternoon. I thought about what I had eaten for those three lunches. The common factor was....you guessed it....avocado. I had one on a sandwhich, ate one the next day with my meal and had one in a salad the last day. I had planned to make a salad exactly as I made yesterday but to 86 the avocado. Well, homeownership caught up with us and we had to replace our front door handle. Needless to say, I didn't feel like making a lunch. I got a school lunch (rectangle pizza, yeah!) and ate NO avocado. I felt fine all afternoon. I'm happy to know what was making me feel bad but I am so sad it's avocados. I LOVE avocados. Hopefully this is just a gestational thing and it won't happen when I'm not pregnant anymore.

If you like that picture above, you can buy it on a shirt! haha I found it from a google search at daily shirts.

Matching Curves

Well, it looks like my two main curves have matched each other in size. =)

A Gift for Baby?

My cousin Amy sent me a picture of this adorable hat she saw at the Frisco Mercantile and I just HAD to have it. I hope baby is a girl so it can be worn soon!
It is hand crocheted of chenile yarn by Linda Day of DayLee Design. I am not sure if that is the same name of the booth where I bought it. If you go there or are familiar with the Mercantile, it is the first booth on the right in the second aisle from the right-hand wall.

13 Weeks

Here I am at 13 weeks! We will have another appointment in 2 weeks and then 4 weeks after that we will have our gender appointment! We can't wait!

So we had a meeting at our house Sunday night for church and we had to have nametags for everyone. After they all left Joel starts putting something on my belly. I looked down and this is what it was. =)He is so cute.

If you don't already know, we have several baby names picked out. If it is a girl she will be Elaine Minette Bourdier (that's my mom's middle name and hismom's middle name) If it is a boy he will be James Trent Bourdier and we will call him Trent (James is a Bourdier family name and Trent is my maiden name!).

Dream Room

Ok I know we haven't found out the sex of the baby but I can't shake this girl feeling. I could be wrong...and I probably am, but that's ok. I love boys too! I found this bedding from Serena and Lily today and I just fell in love. It is so what I am looking for....girl wise. =) They have so many great things on this site. I love the neutral rooms that just look so peaceful! I just can't do neutral...you've probably seen my house.
Here is the bedding I just love! I also love the way they did the room with the different colored furniture. SO pretty. I only wish I could get all of those pieces.

Frustration

Well it turns out I am just now 12 weeks along. My dr. hasn't really explained the "weeks calculations" very well. Most people have a baby age and a pregnancy age. The pregnancy is usually calculated as 2 weeks longer than the age of the fetus. When I went for my first ultrasound they told me, "Your fetus is 6.5 weeks old." So I assumed that my "pregnancy," ie how far along I am, was 2 weeks more - being 8.5 weeks. That's what I went by when telling everyone how "far along" I was. I even double checked with my doctor that day to make sure I was doing it right. Well, she said she had never heard of that before and that "you are the same as your baby." It just didn't add up to me. My book says at the beginning of the chapter "12 weeks, age of fetus 10 weeks." Soooooo I've been doing it wrong and I'm really only 12 weeks at this point. My sweet friend Brandy helped me figure it all out yesterday. =) Thanks B!
NONEtheless, we will still find out what the sex is in less than 7 weeks!! I think our next appointment will include an ultrasound but it will be too early to tell the sex. I can't wait!!

Baby's First Painting

Here is the Owl!!! I painted it last week at a painting class and finished it at home on Sunday. It was so much fun to paint. I know baby will love it. I might just have to hang it right over the crib. =) The quality isn't fantastic because I took this photo with my phone. The Owl is orange, brown and yellow and the leaves are green and pink. I am definitely going to have to find a fabric that coordinates with these colors to make the bedding.

Students

My kids are being so sweet about the baby. A few of the fifth grade girls and a few of the little girls have rubbed my belly already. They are so cute. One little girl in first grade told me last week, "Mrs. B I think your baby is going to be beautiful." How sweet is that?! Another little girl in first grade made me this card. I love it!

Baby's Room

My sister has so graciously offered to loan us her crib and dresser/changing table. I am so excited! It is really nice and will be perfect in our baby's room. It even converts to a toddler bed, which is shown above. That's Seth's room. =) I can't wait to find out the sex of this litte thing so we can start getting the room ready! We do want to do a wainscoting around the room in white. I guess we could get started on that when we have time.......not sure when that will be! =)

Baby's room will probably not have a theme, but I just can't say for sure right now. I am going to make the bumper and quilt, so we will either base it off the fabric I find or the paiting I did for baby last night. I went to a painting class in Grapevine with my friend Dawn. We painted a cute little owl sitting in a tree. It was so much fun. I haven't painted in almost a year due to a bad experience with a commission so it was great to get back in the game. We used acrylic so that was a little different than I'm used to but I love it. I haven't worked with acrylic much, but now I plan to use it a lot more. Joel and I decided the little owl would be perfect for baby's room. I have to finish it and then I will post a photo.

Big Belly

I was looking extra big Wednesday night so I had Joel take a picture. This is pretty much how I look every afternoon and evening now.

3 Month Appointment

Joel and I went to the doctor yesterday and heard our sweet baby's heartbeat. It was the coolest thing. It was beating so quickly, but the doctor said it was healthy. =) Joel got out his iPhone metronome and calculated the beat at 156. The doctor thought that was funny. I wish we had recorded it, but I guess we will have to do that next time. It was so nice to have confirmation that everything is still going well. When you can't feel kicking yet it just doesn't seem real. The doctor says we should find out the sex in 8 weeks. I can't wait! It seems so far away, but when I think about 8 weeks before today....that doesn't seem very long ago.
The belly is growing but I have only gained 3 pounds. I am trying to eat very healthy and have all the vegetables, protein and water I need each day. Luckily I never crave sweet things...even as a non-pregnant person. I crave vegetables and savory things like pasta and rice.
The kids are so sweet about the baby. One little first grade girl came up to me today and asked "Mrs. B how's your baby?" This little girl is always giving baby attention. The other day she said "Bye baby!" on the way out of school.

12 Weeks

Here is my 12 week picture from last Tuesday. =) I'll try to get them on here faster from now on.

Things are going very well. I still feel great and I am trying to eat healthy. I pretty much crave vegetables and pasta...nothing really bad like all that fried stuff. That stuff does not appeal to me right now. I'm so glad! I started noticing that my hip bones are disappearing. The bump is beginning to take a more permanent position. For a while it only appeared later in the day, but now it is visible all day long.
We go to the doctor on Tuesday - my aunt Brenda's birthday! - and we should have more news to tell then. I can't remember what they will be doing at this appointment, so it's kind of a surprise!

In the clothing department....I'm still able to wear most of my tops. The biggest problem is them being too short. They already were too short and now with the bump they are even shorter. I have to do some creative layering. Joel and I perused the mall today and I found a pair of maternity skinny jeans on sale! Who knew they would ever make such a thing? Not me. They actually fit well and I'm excited about them. If only I could find the perfect suede boots to wear with them. =)
