Changing Table / Dresser

It finally arrived yesterday!!! I came home to that wonderful surprise. =) My school threw me a diaper shower and I was saying "if only I had somewhere to put all of these..." and then like magic I did! Well it was a little magic and a little bit of a sweet daddy building it until 9:30 last night.
Poor daddy was so frustrated with this thing. It was definitely not as easy to build as the crib. And according to him the instructions were no good. But he still got it done and it looks great! I'm thinking about painting either white stripes or white swirls on the knobs.

A custom mirror (special project in the works) will be hanging over the changer and I just got a cute green basket that I can put on the table with diapers or ointments in it. Thank you CP! And I will put a green rug in front of the dresser.....maybe some shelving on the wall to the right.

I have my first "stuff" shower tomorrow and I am very excited! I can't wait to see all of the little tiny clothes! I'm glad it's a three-day weekend. I will have plenty of time to get his room in order and his gifts put away. YAY!

Crib!!!!!!!!!

We got the call that the crib came in on Saturday so we went yesterday and picked it up! Yay!

Daddy reading the instructions very carefully. =)

All done! Now we just need a mattress and the bumper. My sweet aunt Kay offered to make his bedding for the shower gift. I can't wait! It's going to be so awesome!!

That tall dresser is actually dark green, but it looks black in the photo. It is an antique we inherited from Trent's Mimi. =) Thank you Mimi!

The jar on the dresser is etched "Trent" and it used to be my parents'. Mom let me have it. =) I'm going to put it on his changing table with q-tips in it or something.

Trent's Wall Letters =)

I bought the supplies to do Trent's name ages ago but needed time to decide what I wanted to do with them. I decided on black and white with orange. That will go perfectly with his bedding... Next Project!

I used my houndstooth stencil and marker on the R and the N, and I used a ruler and a marker for the stripes.

I attached a houndstooth ribbon to each striped letter and a striped ribbon to each houndstooth letter. =)
I can't wait to find a spot to hang them!!

Next Project Coming Soon: Trent's Bedding
The dresser should be in any day and the crib should be in by Monday. =)

Getting Trent's Room Painted!

We finally started painting Trent's room this weekend. We moved out all of the furniture and got to work! It is a silvery grey and we love it!
Goodbye random ivy hook that was behind the door! Not sure why it was there or why we waited so long to remove it. Aaaand I'm not sure why the previous owners didn't remove ANYTHING from the walls before painting. Not cool.

Ready for the first roll!

It's hard to see because the paint is so light, but the wall says "We love you Trent!"

Sneak peek photos of his letters coming soon! =)

Trent's First Package!

Our cousin Melanie and her precious boy Liam sent Trent a gift! It was addressed to him and everything. =)

And of course it was something AWESOME! This owl bank will be perfect in his nursery. Especially since the walls are turning out to be a silvery grey. =)

Thank you Melanie and Liam!

Mother's Day =)

There is some debate on if Mother's Day counts for those who are expecting. I happen to think that it does count. He is not out where everyone can see him, but I am still taking care of him. This is also a really special time of closeness between a mother and a child. I have him all to myself and I can feel him moving in a way nobody else can. I consider myself a mommy. =) And yes I know things will be very different once he is here in the flesh.

I had a great Mother's Day!
I woke up and was given a gift by my sweet dearest husband. It was a necklace from Premier and I love it!

I went to Sunday School and had a SUPER fun time with my cousins and my mom and dad. Most of our class is family right now and only family was in attendance yesterday. We are studying marriage and we played a sort of game with the women v. the men. I wish my honey had been there; he was playing bass in the first service. It was so funny to see what they said and what we said and how we were all right about each other! They handed out roses to all the mommies after church and my niece delivered one to me. =)

My sister and her precious family joined us for the service. It is always so nice to have them in church with us. They currently go to a different church but they came over so we could all have lunch at mom's afterward. Lunch was Randy White's Barbecue complete with peach cobbler!!! YUM! My sweet sissy gave me a cute owl charm that is on the back of a Scrabble tile!

After lunch a few of us went over to the Meadowcrest house to see the progress of the remodel. (My sister and her family are moving into my grandma's house since my grandma moved in with my mom and dad) It was fun to see the house looking so different. When we got back home we had a nice game of Scrabble in the game room. My nephew, Tyler was on my team and we won!!! I hardly ever win Scrabble, especially when I'm playing against my husband.

After the fun afternoon, my dad came and helped Joel move the desk out of Trent's room. Then I painted all I could reach (I'm not allowed to use a ladder) while Joel disassembled the guest bed. Now daddy just has to paint the high parts and do a second coat and I can start his tree mural.

Dinner was Fuddruckers. I needed those sweet potato fries! And then my honey took me to Kohl's so I could find some possible shower outfit options. I found two really cute things that aren't maternity. I hope they will work. I hate to buy really cute maternity stuff that I won't get to wear much longer.

It was a great day! =) Here I am with my rose from church.

Our New Niece!

My sister-in-law Alicia had her baby girl yesterday evening and she is BEAUTIFUL! For those who don't know, this is Joel's brother's wife. =) She will only be 2 1/2 or 3 months older than Trent. I think Rowynn looks exactly like her daddy, which basically means Trent will look like her because I KNOW he will look like his daddy. VERY exciting. James and Joel don't look exactly alike, but they are definitely both Bourdiers. I think you will be able to tell that these two little ones are related...unless Trent comes out looking like mommy! Who knows?! Ok, here is the beauty in her first hour of life on the outside.

And here she is with her mommy and Mimi!!!

This is all so very exciting. I can't wait until Trent is here and I know I will turn around twice and have a post just like this about him! We are ecstatic and very anxious!! Every time I feel him kicking I just imagine him here and moving his little legs. I can't wait to see his precious face. It is such a miracle. I cannot get over the miracle of life and I hope I never do! Yay God. Thank you for this blessing.
