STILL Waiting

Our best friends Klint and Michelle got here yesterday and we thought SURELY that would induce labor. They were here when my water broke with Trent. However, nothing has happened yet. I'm still having painful contractions that feel like the real thing but they aren't close enough together. It's very frustrating. I go in on Monday at 7AM for my induction but I'm really wanting to go into labor before that. It's not that I don't want to be induced, it's that I don't want to starve! I can't eat breakfast when I wake up Monday. =( It would also be nice to have an extra day that Klint and Michelle can see Joseph. They have to leave Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Trent is just growing up so fast.
-He is switching to cow's milk
-He eats waffles for breakfast
-He takes bites of pizza and cheese toast and party burritos...basically anything

-And the biggest change of all: he is walking. Just yesterday he started taking off and walking around the living room. It's so fun!
This is him walking around and playing with Michelle's brother, his wife and her sister's family.

Maternity Photos

My best friend Erin of 24ish years took some shots of us to document Joseph's time inside. =)
And no, he's still not out yet.

She will also be doing Joseph's newborn photos in a few weeks, and right around the same time she will do Trent's 1 year photos! I can't wait!! This girl is a Photoshop genius! =)

37 Weeks 6 Days

Well...this was the day the timer went off for Trent. Will Joseph be like his big brother?!?! Let's hope so!! If not, I hope he doesn't wait too much longer. Mommy is heavy and hurting.

Here is a photo of Trent and mommy on our first day together. Maybe this will help little J come out. =) Come on Bubba! It's fun out here!!! And there's much more room to wiggle.

Trent is 11 Months 1 Week and Joseph is Still Cooking.

I'm now 37 Weeks and 4 days - just two days away from the time I had Trent. I'd much rather deliver this Sunday than wait until the 27th!! That's when we will induce if he's not here yet. Dr. has thought all along that we probably wouldn't make it that far. I didn't even think I would make it THIS far. He's holding out! Maybe he's waiting for his Papa to get back from Australia next Wednesday. If so, I blame my dad for this. haha

I'm getting more and more sore every day. It's hard to walk, stand on one leg, lay down, get up, lift a leg. Pity party on me! All of this waiting is making me feel like I'll be waiting forever. And I swear I'm getting bigger by the day. My uterus feels like it's going to burst out of my skin! I also noticed some new stretch marks on my belly. I had none from Trent...thanks little J!

Here is super big brother cheering on his bubba. "Come out Joseph! We are ready to play!"

11 Month Changes
He is taking a few steps here and there but nothing substantial.

He says "dye dye dye dye dye" while folding his little fingers on his right hand.

He grinds his teeth MUCH to mommy and daddy's dismay. It is the most disgusting sound. Ick!!

He eats all kinds of food: bread of any kind (new=tortillas), cheese, doing better w bananas..basically if we have something soft we are eating (not sugar) we will give him some.

He is going down for naps and bedtime withOUT being rocked to sleep. Yay! We are on day 3 and have had great success. Keep it up big bro!

Look for his 11 month photo on the right. =) Big boy!

No Baby Yet

I'm still having strong contractions at times, but they are inconsistent and they go away - not labor. =/ boo
I'm just trying to rest as much as possible to reduce the pain in the evenings. Last night was the worst night so far. My whole abdomen was just hurting really badly, so contractions and baby stretches were not fun. I also have a cough that I wish would go away. Coughing does not feel good on a 9 months pregnant belly. I'm unable to lift Trent without pain so that has stopped. =( I'm not getting as much time holding him and that is sad for mommy.

Please pray that the baby will come healthy and soon to relieve me from this pain and discomfort. Also pray that my cough will subside so that I can be 100% healthy when Joseph comes.

The house is ready, therefore I am ready. haha
Joel is awesome and got everything straightened up and cleaned so that we will be ready when little J decides to make his appearance. No more stressing about dirty floors and bathrooms. We are ready for Mimi to visit and help with babies!

My doctor told me not to go into labor over the weekend because she is not on call, so I'm sure he will decide that is the perfect time. =) If he does, oh well. I hope Dr. Denning is nice and has as great a bedside manner as Dr. Ku. We would be disappointed though because Dr. Ku didn't get to deliver Trent. Dr. Ryder did and she was great!

Come on Joseph! We are ready!

Here are a few more updates to the nursery.

His letters that I painted. =)

Look at all those diapers and wipes! Thank you everyone. =)

This is a cute little painting of our family that my aunt did. =)
The glider....LOVE it! We've already rocked Trent in it. =)

I just can't get over that quilt! It goes so perfectly. =)

And the bumper pads are amazing, of course. My aunt rocks.

Love his hutch! The furniture looks so great. We love it. =) Thank you to my sister for holding onto it and letting us use it!

Joseph's Nursery and a 36 Week Update =)

I'll start with the part that is most exciting. Joel took me to the doctor today for my 36 week appointment. SO glad he is home now and he can take me places. The doctor checked me and I waited patiently for her to say, "nothing new! Keep staying rested." Well, that's not quite what she said. She said I was about 2 cm dilated and getting very soft.

Hmmm....that sounded familiar to me. I double checked and that is exactly what she told me on July 8th last year when I was pregnant with Trent, and he was born on the 10th. Here it is straight from the blog: "I am almost 2 cm dilated and getting very soft and ready for delivery!"

Now that is crazy! Not only is it crazy that Joseph could be here any day....he may be born on June 10th!

Now, most people can hold out at 2cm for a while...several weeks even, but I don't think I'm one of those people. I think he will be within the next week. Maybe he will come on Saturday since I had planned on going to my cousin's baby shower. Trent came on a day when I had plans so why shouldn't Joseph?

I'm just praying that my water will break again so that I know for a fact I'm in labor. That was so nice with Trent. And considering the fact that I'm in pain most of the time anyway, I'm not sure I would know for sure that I was in labor. = / Yikes!

Let's just hope we can get the house cleaned up and the yard done before he makes his entrance. By "we" I mean my sweet honey and anyone else who wants to help! I should probably be sitting. Ugh. I never thought I would WANT to clean.

Ok Now for the nursery. =)
Drumroll??

I know a lot of people have already seen it on facebook, but not all of my readers have facebook.
My sister and cousins had this quilt made by the same lady that made Trent's owl quilt.
Her Etsy store is called Moon Spirit Studios. She makes very cute quilts and this one was a custom order. She usually doesn't do giraffes.

That lamp was one my dad got me for my apartment in college. It's perfect! Glad I held onto it. And it has a neato foot switch. Good for when you're holding a baby. Yay Ikea!

My aunt Kay made the bedding. LOVE it. Here is a better shot.
I found all of the fabrics on Etsy and gave them to her. She rocked it out!

I plan to get his letters hanging, which I finished last week, and take a few more pictures of the other areas. They aren't put together just yet. We will try to do that before he comes! Once he is here life will be busy!
We did get our glider in the mail yesterday and it was so exciting! Thank you Mimi, Pappy, KK and Aunt Jacqui! It looks SO perfect in his room and it's comfy!

Babies Always Want the Things They Can't Have

Trent is very persistent in going after these things. It is very frustrating, but we can't say the kid isn't determined. One day this will be a good quality. =)

Here are some of his weaknesses. ;)

Mommy's clothes or any laundry or things with straps. He really likes to get the socks out of the laundry. Silly boy.

Door knobs. He can't quite reach them yet, but he tries! I think he knows how the door works. If it's cracked he can get it open.

Under the bathroom vanity scratching the wall. He loves scratching things.

Mommy's lap desk she was trying to write thank you notes on. I mean two seconds after putting this on my lap he's on his way over. I gave up and just finished them after he went to bed.

The remote control. He is obsessed. So I took the batteries out of our DVD remote and gave it to him. We don't use it anymore. He loves it!

The vacuum cleaner. He LOVES them.  He loves watching us vacuum, especially the Shark. Once I put him in his car while I vacuumed and he followed me around RIGHT at my heels the whole time. Didn't do that again.

And I don't even have pictures of the most frequent ones.

He is ALWAYS after the DVD player, which is on a not-so-stable shelf. We have plans to make a new one, but that requires time!
He loves grabbing the blinds.

He messes with the TV trays that are between the couch and the wall.

He loves to pull up at the fireplace doors. = / That one is hard...we need to find something to block it with, but I have no clue what!

So all of this is why it is hard for mommy to stay off her feet as much as possible - Dr.'s orders. She also wants me to sleep as much as I can. So I've been going to bed early...even if a show I like is on. =) Ever since we got rid of the DVR I've been a lot less attached to TV shows. However, in this time of "rest" I would love to have it back! So the reason I've been given these orders is because last Sunday I was having pretty strong, painful contractions. I was checked and nothing was happening so the Dr. said dehydration, lack of sleep, physical strain...etc can cause them. Ever since I've been following her orders I've felt much better. =)

Trent Loves Biscuits!

He is definitely momma's boy. I love biscuits too!!
They are pretty messy, but he does a pretty good job eating them. =)

I should have taken a picture of the floor after this meal...
