Long time no post

It has been a while. I got so busy getting things ready for Christmas. Now maybe I can breathe for a minute. =)

Trent had a great first Christmas. He got a few things from us and many things from the family. It was great! Here are a few photos of some things we got for him.

Fleece Yoda Hat from Grapevinefires on Etsy - Find it Here

This hat is so stinkin' cute. I just love watching him look around with those big ears sticking out!
He was mesmerized by this balloon. It was his first time to ever see one. =)

Combi Adventure Walker from Babies R Us - This was his gift from Santa. I had to order it and it came on Christmas Eve! He loves it.

Here he is on Christmas day playing with his cousin Rowynn. They were so cute together. =)

Thanksgiving 2010

We took Trent on his first road trip last week! We went to Houston, then Beaumont, then Baton Rouge, back to Beaumont and then home on Saturday! He was such a good boy. He slept most of the time in the car and he slept great every night we were gone. What a gem! It was SO fun to show him off to all of Joel's relatives. They were just smitten with him of course. Here are a few highlights from the trip:

We made it to Mimi's house in Beaumont!

Aunt Jacqueline came over to play!

Laying around with cousin Rowynn

Posing like uncle Jeff

Hanging out with Pappy!

So happy during our snack break!

KK and Mimi holding the precious ones

And the computer is acting weird so more photos will come later!

First Halloween

We took Trent to the pumpkin patch. I want it to be a tradition every year. When he's bigger we will let him pick out a pumpkin. This year we didn't make it until today....they were mostly rotten and the patch was totally unmanned!! Crazy talk.

Daddy set up some pumpkins in a little nest for him. =)

After the pumpkin patch we went to Grandma's house. Many of Trent's second cousins stopped by to see Grandma Haley so we got a group shot!

The Storeys got there just as the others were leaving. Here they are!

After the fun we came home and hid in the dark so the trick or treaters wouldn't disturb Trent, and we wanted to watch game 4 of the World Series. We only had two knocks! Well, the second one didn't even have to knock because I was on the porch putting a note on the doorbell.

FBC Fall Festival

Today was the Fall Festival and it was so great! Trent and I went by ourselves but we got to see the Sandifers and hang out with Papa! We also saw a whole bunch of other people and Trent was a hit in his costume!

Can you guess what he was?! If you guessed "The Cat in the Hat" you're correct!
I made his hat and "gloves." The onesie and leggings came from Amazon.

We had to get a picture with Melissa and Isaac!

Kate and Trent - They are betrothed. =)

Papa and The Cat

Being a celebrity is hard work.

We had so much fun. Next weekend we are going to the pumpkin patch with daddy! CAN'T wait!!!

Spike!

I barely touch Trent's hair all day because it gets oily really easily and I don't want him to look dirty. I just LOVE the way his hair looks right after his bath all soft and blonde. So at the end of the day just before bath time I take advantage and play with his hair. =) I think he likes it.

Three Months

Our baby turned three months old Sunday! He is growing so fast. He is now twice the size he was when he was born. That's crazy!!

Changes:
Talking and TALKING! He makes a new sound every day
Laughing - not an obvious laugh, but more like a happy sound
Kicking the feet A LOT!
Holding his head up better
...
And
...
Rolling OVER! =)

That's right! He rolled over today for the first time! He did it TWICE in a row too! He rolled from his back to his tummy. But then he didn't know what to do with his arms! haha
It was so exciting. I really didn't think it would be as exciting as it was. Of COURSE I documented the occasion. =)

First go the arms...

...then the legs

Almost there

Getting frustrated - he does not like to roll on command

He did it!!!

Trent's "Office" Attire

My smiley boy had a very good photo shoot in his AC DC onesie last week. I wanted to get a shot of him in it to show my friend that gave it to him. I wish he had some black cotton pants to wear with it. C'mon Carters and Target...get with the program! Babies wear black now. It's ok.

He has gotten so talkative lately. It's the cutest thing. He loves to talk after his bath....well any time he's on the changing table upstairs and while laying on his tummy on mommy's chest. He's also started to talk to himself in the mirror while he's in his swing. =) I'll have to try to get a video of him talking while he's on my chest. It's so cute! He's starting to get the lips involved and he'll squeal with delight!

Trent's Dedication

Trent's baby dedication was this Sunday and it was so nice. We met several other sweet couples that we want to hang out with soon. Including a couple that went to SFA! They were all super cool! =)

This is our little family of three. Trent looks kind of crazy. I wish Gammer had taken another shot. =/

This is my immediate family. My parents, my sister and her family, and my grandma.

This is our sweetums sitting on the couch after we got home. He looks like such a big boy!

This is the picture we used in the bulletin. =) I love this one.

Air Guitar

I just had to post this. He was sleeping so funny last night and the two pictures I took make it look like he is playing air guitar. =)

2 Month Checkup

Our little man had his 2 month check at the pediatrician on Tuesday and he was such a good boy! Here are his recent stats:

Height = 24 1/4" - 89%
Weight = 13 lbs 13 oz - 90%
Head = 16" - 65%

The doctor said he is very healthy! She also said if he needed to bump up to 7 or 8 ounces that was ok because he's a bigger boy.

He had his DTap vaccine (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis)and I was worried that he might have a meltdown. He did so great! He barely even whined when she stuck him. Good thing he has chunky thighs!! He seriously freaked out more when I cleaned out his nose that morning. Crazy boy was inconsolable.

Since his appointment his sleeping hasn't been quite the same. He woke up 2 hours early Wednesday morning, 3 hours early Thursday morning and 4 hours early this morning! I was able to get him back to sleep today but it wasn't a deep sleep. So I called the doctor this morning to see if it had anything to do with the vaccine and the nurse said it might. It could also be just coincidence because  babies usually change their sleep patterns at this age. To air on the side of caution we are going to give him some vitamins for a few days. I hope he gets back into the swing of things. I do NOT like waking up in the middle of the night. He has gotten me spoiled with his 10 hour nights.

More changes:
Tummy time so he can roll to his back =)
He can see all of the colors
He can see across the room
He is more aware of his feet and hands being connected to his body

It is all so exciting! Only a short time away from eating cereal! I might cry...seriously I just felt a hint of teariness when I typed that.

Our next big event to look forward to: Mimi and Aunt Jacqueline visiting on October 8th!! Almost time to decorate for fall!!!

Two Months

Boy how my boy has changed in two months! He looks so different and we think he looks more like mommy all the time. Here he is in his Bumbo yesterday. He loved it!

Things that have changed:
Smiling more especially when he hears mommy
Eating 6 oz
Taking one long nap in the middle of the day
Sleeping an average of 9 hours at night

His 2 month checkup is Tuesday and we can't wait to see how much he weighs!

Photo Shoot

Trent finally got to meet his cousin Rowynn this weekend. She is two months older than Trent and they had a blast together! Rowynn's daddy is Joel's brother James.

We went out in the back yard on Saturday and took some awesome photos! Alicia, James and I took turns with the camera.

Tummy Time!

So...I got out our "Sassy" tummy time mat only to discover it had been used. I'm not sure if someone gave it to us as a hand-me-down or if it came from the store. If it came from the store, I'm annoyed. If it was a hand-me-down that's fine....does anyone who reads this know? I'm so bad. I can't remember where it came from.

Luckily Aunt Kelly gave us a wonderful "Boppy" tummy time mat so we tried that out. He wasn't crazy about it, but he didn't freak out too much. =)

Big Boy

Our big boy is sleeping in his bed now. We had tried it a few weeks ago and then he started going through one of his "leaps." There is a book called The Wonder Weeks that explains the mental developments babies go through at different weeks of age. (I have the app on my phone) Trent fit every criterion for the first leap: "Changing Sensations" which included crying without normal reason, only quiet with you, wants more physical contact. It was comforting to know why he was being so needy. Thank you Aunt Alicia for the info about the app! It is so helpful.

So now that he is through that we started him back in his room. Wednesday night he was really fussy and fighting sleep to the death. He would not give in. We finally got him to go down but he woke up about 15 minutes later. I went in and turned him to his back and he was fine. He likes looking at his little lighted, musical aquarium. That was at 10:00 and he woke up at 2am screaming for a bottle. I went back and forth in my mind for a few seconds but decided I was NOT going to give him a bottle. He needed to stay used to going all night without one. So I just picked him up and rocked him for a bit. Then he slept three more hours. =) Yay!

Last night was another fussy night. I thought, "Oh no, not this again." I decided to give him a bath to see if a routine would get him in a better mood. He LOVES his bath now. He was calm and sweet the whole time. He even smiled! He didn't fuss until I was carrying him in the towel. He hates the towel. I dressed him in a fantastic zip-up footsie jammy and he was as happy as a lark. He went down for a little bit in his pack-n-play and then had a bottle. Then he went down for at least 8 hours. I can't remember exactly when I put him down but I'm pretty sure he slept 8 hours. Yay Trent!

Here he is after his fussy night. I think he liked the bath and footsie jammies routine much better. That will have to become a nightly routine. Mommy LOVES his fresh, soft hair anyway. =)

I ALMOST got him to nap in his bed today but it didn't last long. Only 15 minutes. He just loves to nap in his lamby swing. I don't blame him. It looks COMFY! I want to nap in it. =)

I Am in Trouble

He is so cute....I'll never be able to say no to him! Naw...I'll be ok. But he IS super cute. He is only awake for a few short hours each day, so mommy holds him on the couch and talks with him. Here is a series of photos from one of our couch sessions.

Hum dee dum...what to do...

I have an idea!

Uh oh! Something's coming.

I wonder if she knows what I just did in my diaper.

I think she knows.

Maybe if I keep making cute faces she won't care!

Wow....she really doesn't care. I love my mommy.
